About Our Head Instructor
Michael ‘Joker’ Guymon has been involved in
Martial Arts for the past 15 years. Like many other Martial Artists,
Joker achieved his Black Belt in Tai Kwan Do and came to the
realization that simply knowing how to punch and kick is not enough.
So, he began training in Jiu Jitsu about 8 years ago under the
tutelage of Chris Brennan.
Quickly becoming one of the star students, Joker became part of the Next Generation Fight Team and started fighting professionally in the year 2000. Joker exhibited an amazing understanding of the MMA fight game and was not only fighting as a professional, but was in high demand by many other fighters to help them prepare for their fights and to work their corner.
Like any great coach, Joker has the ability to see things before they happen. This has given him the opportunity to train many professional fighters. Whether you wish to be a professional fighter, just get in shape, or want something in between- at J.W.F.A. you will receive the professional instruction to help you achieve your personal goals.
Our Fight Team
The J.W.F.A. fight team consists of seasoned pros, as well as fighters who are just breaking into the fight game. Some of the pros you can train with include Erik Apple, Justin Levens, Albert Rosales, Brian Sesma, and Cub Swanson.
The greatest advantage for our students is that these professionals are not only superb fighters, but they are also great instructors. One of the main differences between J.W.F.A. and many other MMA schools is that the instructors are all pros. They have the experience to back their teaching and our students not only benefit from getting trained by pros, but they also get to train with pros.
This has allowed J.W.F.A. to cultivate some new faces that are starting their professional MMA careers. This list includes Raja Shippen, Mitch Melloti, and Walter Pinto. They all started out as our students, trained hard for many years, and are all proud to have made their professional debuts representing Joker’s Wild.
